solitude

I sat alone at the ocean
pondering thoughts from heaven,
receiving numinous emotions.
I saw each boat
flow up and down,
left and right,
a slave to the water's commotion;
all of this I took down on note.

I touched the sand and licked the sky
content with the fact that one day
every sailor must die;
I saw through black,
bleak and terrifying clouds
until I could picture
a place where sailors fly.

I longed to know of heaven
so I swam into the dark,
the bleak,
the depressing deathbed ocean,
following numinous emotions
until I died.

Watchtower

I am nothing but
A watchtower, shedding light
On those who seek it.
